Don’t be Scammed, watch for Online Fraud and Scams, beware of Rental Scams.
- Don’t rent sight unseen, wire or pay cash and watch for long distant numbers. Get evidence they own or mgt the rental.
Don’t rent without checking reviews. Management and staff change a lot so can’t always go by old reviews or a single review. Look for multiple positive or negative reviews to determine an accurate picture. Help fellow renters out by writing your own reviews.
- Apartment Ratings, enter the name or zip, sort by Recommended %. You also can use this just to find the list of apartments and addresses in a town, as my list is not complete. Also if you have experience with an apartment help others out by writing a review.
- Also check the Facebook groups out below as people will comment about various experiences.
Make sure you see the actual apartment or house that will be your rental before committing. They can vary widely within the same facility.
Be sure to photo and note any issues with a place and even email those to the rental, so you can be sure to get your deposit back.
