Pacific Northwest Duty Station

The Pacific Northwest is one of the military’s best duty stations with historical and cultural attractions, diverse outdoor recreational activities, outstanding educational opportunities, and very friendly people! Western Washington is well known for all the rain we get, but because of this rain, it is green and lush all year round. And when we have clear sunny weather, you won’t believe the incredible views.

Naval Base Kitsap

If you are transferring to Kitsap it is important to identify where you will be stationed, so you can live nearby. Naval Base Kitsap was created in 2004 by merging the former Naval Station Bremerton with Naval Submarine Base Bangor.

• Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor is located at Bangor Base, WA which is NW of Silverdale. Submarines are located here.
• Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton is located in downtown Bremerton, WA. Carriers and other surface ships are often located here.
• Naval Base Kitsap-Keyport is located at Keyport, WA. Formerly known as Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Located NE of Bremerton, WA and Silverdale, WA.
• Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) is located in downtown Bremerton, WA.
• Naval Magazine Indian Island comprises the entire Indian Island and residents live on nearby Marrowstone Island to the east and in Port Townsend, NW of the site.
• Manchester Naval Fuel Depot is located in Manchester, WA and is east of Port Orchard, WA.
• Naval Hospital is located in West Bremerton, WA.
