My name is Ken Rury and I am a 41 year resident of Kitsap, WA and now retired from real estate and previously a long career as a computer analyst.

I have a real passion to help people fulfill their dreams and connect with the community. I am invested in Kitsap having lived in Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Burley Olalla and Poulsbo. I have a real sense at what makes each community unique. It is my staycation place to live and work. I grew up on a farm getting up early and working late, so I know what it is like to work hard for what you get and you deserve the most from it.

Community Service

After 30 years in the Information Technology field designing global networks for Fortune 100 companies, Ken Rury changed directions to work locally. Ken wrote a business plan to deliver innovative customer centric real estate solutions focused on community. Ken also setup a charity fund using a portion of each real estate commission and started blogging about the community and local charities.

From before it even started, Kitsap Cares Homes had aggressively embraced community service, knowing that a healthy community is a happy one. Ken writes the Kitsap Cares about Charity blog, maintains sites for nonprofits and small businesses and now has a website called KitsapCares.com. Ken is a member of the Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce, volunteers at the Poulsbo Visitor Center, Poulsbo Maritime Museum and previously the Poulsbo Lions club where he was awarded the Rookie of the Year.

Ken developed websites for each town in Kitsap and sites for nonprofits and small businesses to promote themselves for free. Ken helps nonprofits and small businesses learn to use social media to tell their story. Ken has lived in Greater Kitsap since 1981 in Gig Harbor, Burley-Olalla, Port Orchard, Bremerton and Poulsbo.
